Startup of the Week - Tutora

by Startacus Admin
The academic term may have just started once again but many students and parents alike will already be thinking of the year end results. Getting a little extra support in the form of additional tuition may become an absolute must.
Of course finding a suitable tutor to provide that support can be a challenge in itself. That however need no longer be the case thanks to our latest startup of the week (We've featured Tutora on Startacus before, but thought it about time we finally gave them our acclaimed weekly award!).
Tutora is an online tuition marketplace linking professional tutors with students requiring their services. Whether it's for primary school support, GCSE Maths or A Level French, you'll find the tutor you need here.
Here's how it works:
Simply do a search using your chosen subject and postcode - Tutora will then bring up all the available tutors in your area. You can look at their profiles, check out other students’ reviews and also contact them directly to discuss your tuition requirements.
You can then arrange the details of the tuition - the where and when in other words. Only when your lessons have started do you make a payment for the tuition and said payments are all processed via the platform. It's cashless but very convenient for all.
Of course if you are a tutor, the Tutora platform provides you with an excellent way of finding new students and thereby increasing your tuition income. Simply create your Tutora profile and outline which subjects you teach and then let Tutora do the rest!
Tutora is a win-win for all concerned and we reckon it's only going to get bigger and as their recent crowdfunding success would indicate, we're not alone in thinking that!
