Startup of the Week - TripZero

by Startacus Admin
Whilst we’d all agree that travel is great - whether it’s for business or for pleasure, we’d surely all agree too that the impact of travel on our environment is unfortunately less so.
No matter how environmentally friendly and eco-conscious we may be, we still can’t wholly avoid the carbon emissions generated by our journeys. Well...thanks to our latest Startup of the Week, travelling with zero carbon footprint is now entirely possible.
TripZero is an innovative new platform which not only enables you to book hotels for your trips but also covers the costs of travel emissions on those same trips.
So how does it work, you may wonder?
Well, firstly,TripZero have developed a key strategic partnership with Expedia and therefore have provided their users with access to millions of hotel rooms all over the world at guaranteed low prices.
When you use the platform to book a hotel, TripZero earns a commission from the folk at Expedia. TripZero then uses part of that commission to offset your footprint by funding a whole range of reforestation and renewable energy projects. Simples!
Whether it’s helping with a reforestation campaign in Chile or a wind turbine project for schools in Indiana, you can be sure that it’s being put to good use. Guilt be gone!
TripZero is aimed at independent travellers and businesses alike - in essence anyone who wants to be a more responsible traveller.
Admittedly it’s still early days for this startup but we reckon that it’s one to watch. And more importantly - it’s one to support.
