Startup of the Week - Tootle

by Startacus Admin
If you’ve ever tried to sell a car, you’ll know only too well that it can be a bit of a chore. Putting an ad in the local paper can prove to be a waste of time if you get no calls or enquiries and if you decide instead to traipse round some local dealers and they’re not offering you a decent price, it can be frustrating to say the least.
Help is now at hand however thanks to an innovative online platform which incidentally is our latest startup of the week.
Tootle is an online network bringing together car dealers and private sellers.
Here’s how it works:
Firstly create your ad which will consist of uploading some details about your car - everything from the spec through to its condition. You can also add some pics.
Then, you simply wait for dealers to contact you. Tootle works with professional dealers from across the UK who compete with each other to give you the best price.
It’s up to you then to decide which offer you want to go with. Once you’ve agreed a deal, the buyer will then liaise with you directly over the payment and collection.
It couldn’t be easier!
Of course it’s not only the car sellers who are benefiting from Tootle - car dealers are too. After all, it’s enabling them to source new stock easier than ever before. They can buy directly from the public - no need to waste time and resources attending all local used car auctions.
To date, most Tootle users find that they receive offers within 48 hours of listing their vehicle on the platform and generally make between 5-10% more than if they went down the regular car-selling route. Impressive stats - wouldn’t you agree?
What we really like about Tootle is the fact that they’re adding a little innovation to what is in essence a pretty traditional form of enterprise.
Tootle - we’re loving your work!
