Startup of the Week - The Doorstep Market

The Doorstep Market - the virtual shopping platform that will help you support small independent Irish businesses...
As we all know, the current COVID-19 pandemic is bringing unprecedented challenges for businesses in all industry sectors and locations. Since it is clear that we are all feeling the impact, we all ought to be looking for opportunities to help whenever and wherever we can.
It is this very mindset which is the inspiration behind our latest startup of the week.
The Doorstep Market is a new online platform for “small independent Irish businesses and for consumers who want to support them by buying local products and services”.
Founded by Grace Tallon, creative leader and entrepreneur and Joe O’Connor, activist and campaigner, The Doorstep Market’s aim is to support local Irish businesses by the creation of a virtual shopping experience.
It is in essence a one stop shop for all sorts of small independent businesses - from coffee roasters to organic skincare retailers - there is a plethora of products and services on offer.
The online directory is easy to use; you can search via the product type or by the County and more businesses are being added all the time.
The store set-up is straightforward and even those businesses who may not have embraced e-commerce previously will be able to get their online store up and running quickly and with ease. Online orders and payments can all be taken via PayPal.
The Doorstep Market is a great idea and since we are all in this COVID-19 crisis together it most certainly deserves our support.
