Startup of the Week - Squirrel

by Startacus Admin
Squirrel - The lowdown on the FinTech app that will manage your money for you, helping you save and budget...

If this sounds familiar and if your finances are less than healthy, then we reckon our latest startup of the week will be right up your street.
Squirrel is an innovative FinTech startup which is on a mission to help people save, budget and manage their money.
Here’s how it works:
Simply set up a Squirrel account and get your salary paid into it. Your money is then effectively split into three - money for bills, money for saving and of course money for spending.
- Money for those all-important bills is kept aside and paid into your regular current account the day before the bills are due.
- Money for savings is set aside and you can create personalised savings pots and watch as they grow and your reach your savings goals or targets.
- Money for spending is also paid into your current account although you can choose when you want this paid in. So, if you’d prefer your spending money to be allocated weekly, you can do just that!
With Squirrel, you’ll never need to worry about whether you have enough money in the bank to cover that direct debit or if you’ll be able to stretch your funds that last week before payday. Instead you’ll find that you’ll finally be getting on top of your finances!
The Squirrel app is available for both iOS and Android and costs just £9.99 per month.
Since managing money effectively can be a challenge for many of us, any tool or resource which can help us improve and do a better job of it, ought to be welcomed with open arms.
And for under £10 a month, we reckon that paying for Squirrel could be money well spent!
