Startup of the Week - ShareDesk

by Startacus Admin
Here at Startacus we get inspiration from all sorts of things - from the first coffee of the day through to discovering the latest quirky pop-up innovation. One of the most inspiring things though is when we find out about people doing their own thing. We thought that we should start giving these people and their Startups a little ‘shout out’, so we’re going to start doing just that with our new Startup of the Week feature.
If you’re a freelancer, or work from home or are just an independent sort of soul, chances are you’ve used or availed of a co-working space. Perhaps you’re in one right now. Whatever the case may be, there has been a real rise in the number of co-working spaces over the last few years and that, as anyone who has used one will tell you can only be a good thing. Finding them though isn’t always the easiest thing to do which is what makes this week’s Startup of the Week so good.
ShareDesk is an online marketplace for shared workspaces. With spaces listed in over 50 countries worldwide, it basically is helping independent workers and freelancers a place to work, whenever they need to, wherever they are. Spaces can be booked and paid for via the platform, so your workspace can be all arranged before you go anywhere. No more hours spent aimlessly wandering around a strange city trying to find a café with free wi-fi where you can do a couple of hours’ work.
Of course the platform only works thanks to the listing of workspaces and that is where anyone with a little extra space comes in. If someone has a spare desk, an empty studio or even a conference room they can list it on the site and start making a little extra money by renting it out.
It’s basically bringing space providers and space seekers together - a win win then!
Since co-working is pretty close to our hearts here at Startacus, we reckon the whole the ShareDesk concept is great. Go see for yourself!
One more thing - we’d love to hear your suggestions for other Startups we should feature in the future. Why not let us know by emailing editorial@startacus.net and telling all!
