Startup of the Week - SellanApp

by Startacus Admin
Ever had an idea for an app but not a clue as to how to go about getting it made? Well, thanks to our latest Startup of the Week, getting it made just became a whole lot easier.
SellanApp is a platform where you can mock-up, crowdfund, develop and publish Mobile Apps in the Apple App store.
In essence, it works like this:
- Anyone, regardless of technical knowhow or expertise can add an idea for an App to the platform and thereby become a ‘Producer’
- All App ideas that are added to the platform, must also have details of associated rewards that can be offered should the App get developed - much the same as any crowdfunding platform really...
- the SellanApp community then pledges funds on the App ideas that they like best in order for them to get developed by a developer and in return they receive the rewards offered, or a share in any revenue the App will generate or even both!
- A Developer can select an App idea for development at any time and it is only when this happens that anyone who pledges gets charged
- When the App is developed, SellanApp then submit it to Apple’ App Store and then forward any revenues generated to the producer and the pledgers, with the App producer receiving 33% of all revenue and the remaining 66% being distributed pro-rata amongst the pledgers.
It’s a real win-win scenario then!
Here at Startacus, we’re all for projects and platforms where people can come together to create and collaborate, so it goes without saying that we’re pretty impressed with SellanApp.
If you’re impressed too, why not check out their short video below for a little more on how it all works...
