Startup of the Week - Scarlett of Soho

by Startacus Admin
If you are in the market for a new pair of glasses, your options would traditionally involve paying a visit to a high street optician or perhaps ordering from a website (provided you have your prescription details of course). And as anyone who wears glasses knows, the entire process of choosing a new pair can be both challenging and time consuming and even more so if you’re the indecisive type!
Now however thanks to an innovative new startup, the process has just become a whole lot easier.
Scarlett of Soho is the world’s first designer eyewear subscription service.
To avail of the service, they suggest that you initially start with their Home Try On box. This will enable you to select 3 pairs of glasses which are then sent to you free of charge for 7 days. The purpose of this is so that you can take your time deliberating over your choice and thereby ensure that you really like the frames you end up buying! Once you’ve made your choice, you simply return the frames in the prepaid box which is provided and then register for their subscription service.
The subscription service has two options - The Staple which is £12 per month and which entitles you to 1 pair of glasses a year and The Seasonal which is £18 per month and entitles you to 2 pairs of glasses a year. Once you’ve subscribed, their personal eyewear concierge will call you to confirm the finer details - everything from your prescription to your measurements.
Any time you fancy a change of frames, you can do so easily - select another Home Try On box, choose the frames you'd like and if you're still in subscription, simply return your old frames and receive the shiny new ones in their place! Simple huh?
Scarlett of Soho also provide great aftercare and offer a warranty service to help cover you should you lose, break or damage a pair of glasses when under subscription.
We love what these guys are doing. They’re innovating in quite a traditional marketplace and the service they’re providing is second to none.
Check out the Scarlett of Soho website and see (*sorry) for yourself!
