Startup of the Week - Rota

by Startacus Admin
If you’re involved in the hospitality sector, you’ll know only too well how challenging it can be to recruit good staff. It’s a fast paced and pressurised industry and as a result turnover can often be pretty high. Sourcing experienced staff in the most efficient way is therefore an absolute must for employers.
Our latest startup of the week is on a mission to help employers do just that.
Rota is an innovative app which connects hospitality venues with quality experienced staff.
All staff who are registered on the site go through a full vetting and assessment process and are rated after every shift that they undertake. Employers therefore can be safe in the knowledge that only the highest skilled and experienced staff are in the Rota “pool”.
In order to recruit, employers simply post the details of the shifts that they need covered - the where and the when etc and they also outline the skills, experience levels and uniform requirements.
Rota will then match those requirements with the highest rated and most qualified staff. The staff are then notified and can select which shifts best suit them. Employers can also use Rota to track when those staff start and finish work to fully keep track of things.
For staff within the sector, Rota is an excellent way of finding new work opportunities and flexible opportunities at that. Even better is the sheer variety of work on offer via Rota - everything from working at a pop-up burger stall to a corporate function in a 5 star hotel.
To date, Rota is proving its worth with a whole heap of impressive stats including the fact that it takes 2 mins to post a shift, 38 mins to fill a shift and over 27,000 shifts have been completed since its launch.
At present Rota covers venues in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and Edinburgh. however hopefully it will continue to grow and expand its offering nationwide. The demand is certainly there!
