Startup of the Week - RentalStep

by Startacus Admin
Take note Landlords and tenants - RentalStep is on a mission to “connect great tenants with great landlords”.

From a landlord’s perspective, it can be difficult to assess and reference potential tenants and assess their suitability for renting, whilst from a tenant’s viewpoint, it can be equally challenging to prove that you are a reliable and trustworthy tenant!
That however need no longer be the case, thanks to our latest startup of the week.
RentalStep is a PropTech startup which is on a mission to “connect great tenants with great landlords”.
If you’re a tenant, you can use the platform to create a free TenantPassport. This is a detailed and comprehensive account of your rental history. It can include details on your employer, reference details from previous landlords as well as evidence of your payment history. Always pay the rent on time?
This passport will prove it.
What is particularly good though is the fact that RentalStep have partnered with Experian so that when your landlord verifies that you have made your rent payments on the platform, this is logged and will in turn help you to build or improve your credit rating.
You’ll also be provided with a Tenant Score which helps other landlords to assess how good a tenant you potentially are likely to be.
If you’re a landlord, this platform makes the process of renting your property to viable tenants easier than ever before.
You can view a potential tenant’s rental history, reviews from past or current landlords as well as their Tenant Score.
In essence then, you’ll have all the info at your disposal to help you make an informed decision about any potential tenants.
It’s a win win for all. Don’t you think?
Since the beginning of this year, the numbers of landlords and tenants availing of the RentalStep service has been steadily increasing month by month. We reckon that this is only the beginning - a very positive sign for the future!
