Startup of the Week - Provenance

by Startacus Admin
Since we’re right bang in the midst of the festive shopping season, we thought that it would be pretty timely to feature a Startup of the Week which has shopping at its very core.
Provenance is an online platform that’s aiming to inform and empower shoppers about the products they can buy whilst also enabling the makers of those products to tell their stories.
As a maker, you can create a profile on the site and share information about your product - who made it, what materials were used and where it was made.
The premise of course is to enable shoppers to be more informed about their potential purchases and discover more about products than they ordinarily would in a traditional retail transaction.
Provenance is a space where makers and shoppers can connect in an innovative way and is essentially a hub of openness, transparency and knowledge.
Although as consumers we have more choice than ever before, we don’t necessarily have the same knowledge about the products that we buy. The ethos behind Provenance therefore is quite refreshing, wouldn’t you agree?
Hats off to the Provenance guys for what they’re striving to do with this platform. We’re loving their work…
