There’s no doubt that photo apps have been pretty big business over the last couple of years although some are much better than others when it comes down to real innovation. Our latest Startup of the Week is a prime example of just that.
Pixplit is a photo app where collaboration is the order of the day. The app which is available on both iOS and Android allows users to simply select a split frame layout, add a photo to one of the slots, add an optional filter and border and then publish it to the Playground. Once it’s there, other users can make a contribution by adding their photo to one of the other slots, thereby creating a photo collage.
The beauty lies in the fact that anyone anywhere can get involved and it is this collaborative element which makes Pixplit unique. There’s a social element too with an integrated chat function and if you’d rather not collaborate but instead work entirely on your own, you can do that too.
Helping people come together to connect and collaborate in a creative way is something that’s pretty close to our hearts here at Startacus, so it goes without saying that we like Pixplit a lot. We reckon you will too.
