Startup of the Week - PinIt

by Startacus Admin
If you’re into travelling and more importantly into documenting your travels through photos or a diary or blog, then we reckon our latest Startup of the Week will be right up your proverbial street.
PinIt is an innovative new app which enables users to record their travels and thereby keep track of wherever life’s journey may lead them.
It works in a pretty straightforward way. Users simply pin their locations to a personal map and then if they so wish, they can also add photos or video clips. These locations can then be shared with their contacts or kept private.
In essence the app acts like a travel diary where you can record details of all the places that you visit during the journey that is life.
Whilst many of us use regular social media channels to do just this, it’d be fair to say that sometimes there can be so much happening on those channels that our pics and indeed memories can get somewhat lost.
PinIt however has been designed to only record details of those memories and to ensure that only those who we want to share those memories with, can.
One really great feature that it has is the ability to allow users to follow their contacts’ pins and receive notifications if those contacts happen to be nearby. Surprise meetups all the way then!
The PinIt team are currently crowdfunding for the app on Kickstarter and with only a couple of weeks left on their campaign, there’s still time for you to go give it a little support.
If you’re not already impressed enough by what it does, perhaps you will be when we tell you that the founder of the app is a 16 year old British student, Tyler Ball. Yep. 16 years old.
Whoever said that youth was wasted on the young certainly wasn’t talking about inspirational and innovative creatives like Tyler!
