Startup of the Week - Perfocal

by Startacus Admin
If you’ve ever had to avail the services of a professional photographer, chances are you won’t have found it easy. Whether it’s involved endless online research and checking out examples of their work, or simply seeking out a few recommendations from friends, it will no doubt have been a time consuming exercise. And that’s even before you contact them about the potential job you have for them.
Help is now at hand however thanks to our latest Startup of the Week.
Perfocal is “an online marketplace that connects people with high quality freelance photographers”.
So whether you need some professional headshots for your website, documentation of a company event or even the photos taken for your wedding, you can find the right photographer for your needs via Perfocal.
Here’s how it works:
Simply indicate what type of shoot you require - whether it’s business or personal, when and where your shoot should be and also your contact details.
You can then select a package that suits your needs and budget. Perfocal offers fixed price packages ranging from £49 for a 30 minute shoot with 12+ edited photos through to a full day package (8 hours) costing £429 with over 220 edited photos. Something to suit everyone then!
Perfocal will then match you to one of their expert photographers who best matches your requirements. They have an extensive pool of photographers on the platform and when you consider that they have an intensive screening process and only accept 2 out of every 10 photographers who apply to join, you know you’ll be getting a pretty awesome professional to do your shoot.
The payment is all taken care of via the platform and the photographer only receives the payment once the job has been completed properly.
In essence, Perfocal is making the entire process of booking a photographer easier than ever before and that can only be a good thing.
The only drawback is that at present it is covering the London area only, however plans are afoot to expand the geographic offering soon. Welcome news, wouldn’t you agree?
