Video content creator? The lowdown on Papercup, the AI startup that translates the voice tracks on videos so that creators can expand their reach...
If you're based in the UK or Ireland and you create content on social media channels, chances are that you communicate to your followers or subscribers in
Papercup is a London-based startup which has created technology that can translate your videos into Spanish and thereby reach 500 million Spanish speakers all over the world.
In essence it uses machine learning and a neural text-to-speech system and then translates the verbal audio on videos. However the real innovation comes from the fact that it learns a user's voice characteristics so that it can be accurately reproduced. The result? It will sound like you except you'll be speaking in Spanish.
Papercup basically creates and manages a Spanish video channel for you. They'll manage the entire thing - from translating your content through to uploading the videos. And it's entirely free! At the end of each month, any revenues earned will be split between Papercup and you.
If you are a video content creator, this is obviously a pretty fab proposition. After all it's widening your global reach and therefore increasing your potential revenue generation.
What's not to love about that!
