Startup of the Week - OpenPlay

by Startacus Admin
With the New Year upon us once more, it’d be fair to say that getting fit is most probably up there in terms of popular resolutions. Whether it means joining a gym or starting a yoga class, the end result is the same - the more active you are, the better you’ll feel.
It’s an ethos which is at the very core of our latest Startup of the Week.
OpenPlay is an online sports marketplace which is on a mission to get and keep more people active.
If you’re on the lookout for something new to do, you can simply use the platform to search for events, courses or activities in your local area.
There is a directory type function which includes all sorts of sports and activities - everything from basketball to pilates. In actual fact, there are currently 47 sports listed on the platform so you’re bound to find something to suit you!
One of the platform’s other great functions is OpenPlay Connect.
In essence this is a player finder feature. So, for example, if you need another player to make up your 5 a side team, you can find them here.
Want someone to play tennis with on a Saturday afternoon? You’ve guessed it - you can find them here too.
If on the other hand you manage or own a sports facility, you can list it in the OpenPlay marketplace. In your profile, you can add all the important info - the facilities, the costs, the opening hours etc. Bookings can be made and payments can be taken all via OpenPlay. The platform provides a booking management system which is a doddle to use.
Of course by listing your facility on the OpenPlay platform, you are also opening yourself up to a new potential customer base and thereby helping to increase your revenues.
There are a range of set and bespoke packages available for venue owners - full details on costs etc can be sourced from the OpenPlay team.
As with all platforms of this ilk, the more venues which are listed, the better it becomes for users. Likewise, the more users which it has, the better it becomes for those venue owners.
It’s a win win!
We reckon therefore that if fitness is way up there on your own radar this year, you ought to give OpenPlay a try…
