Startup of the Week - NearSt

by Startacus Admin
As we all know, the internet has had a huge impact on the retail sector and not always in a positive way. As online shopping has surged, the good old bricks and mortar stores have suffered. That however may no longer be the case, thanks to our latest startup of the week.
NearSt is a startup which is “on a mission to get all of us back into our high street shops”.
Here’s how it works:
You simply browse NearSt in just the same way as you would any online shopping site. The key difference though is the fact that the products you are looking at are all stocked in real shops nearby. Once you find something you like, you can then place your order, arrange to collect it or have it delivered. Couldn’t be simpler!
At the moment NearSt is only available for shops in London and its initial focus has been on bookshops.
However there are plans in place to expand the product range to include everything from Electronics though to Health and Beauty items. As you’d expect then, the greater the range of products offered and locations covered, the greater a resource NearSt will prove to be.
Of course it’s not just us shoppers who will benefit. If you’re a retailer, becoming part of the NearSt shop community will help drive more customers to your store, thereby helping both your sales and your footfall. It’s a win-win.

NearSt - we’re loving your work!
