Startup of the Week - Monese

by Startacus Admin
Monese - The FinTech startup which is on a mission to provide banking services for all

Help is now at hand however thanks to our latest startup of the week.
Monese is a mobile current account which provides banking services for all - even if you’ve had no previous credit history or have just relocated to the UK.
You’ll have no barriers to overcome or red tape to work around - whether that’s providing countless forms of ID or arranging meetings with endless banking assistants only to be told ‘no”. You can simply set an account up yourself via the Monese app in a matter of minutes, provided you have your passport, national ID card or driving license.
Once it’s set up, you can use all the regular features that you’d expect from a current account. You can deposit your salary, view and manage your direct debits, transfer money - there are even cash bonuses on offer every time your recommend a friend to join.
There are 2 types of account - a Starter account and a Plus account - the latter option incurs a £4.95 fee each month but gives users some additional perks such as a free contactless debit card and reduced fees on foreign currency exchange.
At the moment, Monese can be used by anyone living within the EEA and it provides the perfect banking solution for anyone who is needing to relocate for their job.
In essence, this FinTech startup is solving a problem which many people have faced when dealing with traditional high street banks - and it’s a problem which absolutely needed to be solved.
Monese - we’re loving your work!
