Startup of the Week - Local E

by Startacus Admin

Local E - The startup that aims to "support local food heroes, one bite at a time"

It is clear that they will need our support if they are going to survive. Likewise any initiative or business which aims to help those businesses ought to be supported too - our latest startup of the week is one such business.
Local E is an online platform and app which is on a mission to help the best local independent restaurants and takeaways stand out in a world full of huge corporate giants and chains.
With the Local E app, you can order food online for delivery or collection from local independent restaurants. Every time you order, you will be rewarded for your loyalty by earning Local E reward points. You can then spend those reward points at one of those restaurants, just as you would cash. It couldn’t be simpler.

For the restaurants and takeaways, Local E provides a way of promoting their businesses and reaching new customers without having to pay the extremely high commission rates that many online food portals charge.
Right now, Local E features independently owned restaurants and takeaways in London only but we understand that they plan to expand their offering in the near future.
Hopefully therefore you’ll be able to use the Local E app to support the independent food businesses on your local high street pretty soon!
