Startup of the Week - Learner Lane

by Startacus Admin
For many students, it is not always possible to learn everything they need to at school - additional support in the form of extra tuition is often required. Of course finding a tutor to provide that tuition can be a somewhat difficult task in itself. However thanks to our latest startup of the week, that need no longer be the case.
Learner Lane is a new platform which helps students find the perfect in-home academic tutor.
The tutors on the site are all vetted, hand selected and are experts in their chosen subject - offering tuition services on everything from Key Stage 2 Maths through to A Level History.
The platform makes the entire process of finding the right tutor as simple as possible. Rather than having to trawl through endless lists of potential tutors, the three best tutors for a student’s specific needs are shortlisted and the one deemed to be the perfect match is highlighted. Of course the final decision on which tutor to use is still ultimately up to the student - Learner Lane simply makes recommendations. The platform also takes control of the payment process making the entire student - tutor transaction as smooth as possible.
At the moment the platform is focused primarily in the London areas, however hopefully the site will extend its geographic remit over the next while - the demand would surely be there!
If you’re not already convinced that Learner Lane is a good idea, perhaps this will help convince you. For every child that is tutored via the site, Learner Lane will in turn sponsor the education of a child in Nigeria. That alone is surely enough reason to support this startup!
