Startup of the Week - Kitchup

by Startacus Admin
If you've ever considered turning your passion for food and cooking into a business, chances are the initial startup costs may be somewhat prohibitive.
Your own kitchen may suit fine initially but when it comes to batch or bulk cooking, nothing compares to a commercial setup.
Help is now at hand though thanks to our latest startup of the week.
Kitchup is an online marketplace to list and hire kitchen space. In essence, it connects commercial kitchens with individuals in need of space.
It's a pretty straightforward concept.
If you own a commercial kitchen and have space that is underutilized or free at a particular time, you simply list it on the Kitchup site.
If on the other hand you are seeking a commercial kitchen space, you can use the site to search through the listings and see what space is available which meets your requirements.
The Kitchup folk will help with everything from arranging viewings of the space through to confirming prices and contracts for the space hire.
Of course the space isn't only in demand from early stage startup businesses, photographers may be looking for shoot locations, popup supper clubs may be on the hunt for new spaces in which to have their gatherings.
It's easy to see then how Kitchup is a pretty good idea! Of course you own a commercial kitchen space that's a tad underutilized, you'll have recognised that from the off! Thanks to Kitchup you'll be increasing your business’ revenues and that can only be a good thing.
At the moment, the focus is on London spaces, but hopefully in time Kitchup will expand beyond the capital.
