Startup of the Week - Jobbio

by Startacus Admin
Mention a job board or recruitment agency to many people and you’ll be usually met with a “Grrr…” type response, followed by a few gripes and complaints - either they haven’t actually helped if they’ve been looking for a job or they haven’t actually helped if they’ve been looking to hire staff.
A generalisation? Perhaps. However it’d still be fair to say that the recruitment industry could certainly do with a little ‘disruption.’
And that is exactly what our latest Startup of the Week is aiming to do.
Jobbio is a recruitment website with a difference - it directly connects brilliant brands with the people who want to work for them. No agencies here. No middlemen. Simply direct interaction.
Like the sound of that?
Here’s how it works:
If you’re looking for a job, you simply create a bio - add details of your work history, images, video, even your blog. No boring identikit CVs here.
You can then choose what companies you’d like to connect with and be kept up to date about any potential job opportunities.
If on the other hand you’re looking to hire, you start by adding a bio too - add your branding, imagery, video and even integrate your social networks. You can post your jobs for free and then only pay when you want to connect with relevant candidates. And what you’re paying is pretty minimal!
So in essence, there’s no need to use a third party recruiter, no need to create your own career portal, no need to pay excessive fees.
What’s not to like about that!
