Startup of the Week - Hoop

by Startacus Admin
If you’re a parent, chances are you’re always on the lookout for new things to do with the kids - whether it’s at weekends or advance planning for the summer ahead. It’s easy to go down the same old same old route, but then it’s likely that you’ll be missing out on lots of new and interesting things that can keep your little darlings occupied. Of course, finding those “new and interesting things” can be a chore in itself!
Well, thanks to our latest Startup of the Week that need no longer be the case.
Hoop is an app aimed at helping families discover fun things to do with their kids.
As you’d expect, it’s really straightforward to use.
Simply search for events in your area and add your own filters - whether you’re looking for something that’s free or you’re looking for something that’s suitable for toddlers only, you can do that easily.
The Hoop filters enable you to discover events and activities that are right for you and your kids. Each event or activity that is featured will also have all the relevant info listed, so you’ll not need to go trawling through other websites to check out things like ticket prices or driving directions - you’ll get it all on Hoop.
Of course when you discover something that you’d like to do, you can either save it in your own shortlist or even share it with friends who might like it too.
If on the other hand you’re the facilitator or organiser of kids events, you can list your activity or event on Hoop and thereby reach an entirely new customer base. There are some guidelines on the info you’ll need to add and what is deemed essential etc but once again, it’s a straightforward affair.
It’s a win win for all. Parents can find new family friendly activities easier than ever before; activities organisers can get new customers with minimal effort
Although Hoop started solely listing events and activities in London, it has now expanded and features listings in over 20 cities, with more being added all the time.
