Startup of the Week - Hobzy

by Startacus Admin
If you’re really ‘into’ a hobby, chances are you spend as much time as you can on it, whether that means every evening or whenever you get a few spare minutes during the day. Of course although you may be all consumed by your pastime, your nearest and dearest may not quite ‘get’ it. So when you happen to meet someone who is just as enthusiastic about your hobby and can really appreciate the time and effort you devote to it, because they do too, it’s no bad thing. Finding a whole bunch of people who share that same passion for your hobby, whether that be photography or quilting is a different story though. Well...until now that is.
Our latest Startup of the Week is a social network completely devoted to hobbies and pastimes.
Hobzy is an online platform where you can showcase your hobby to a community of likeminded people. You can add images, video footage or even documents relating to things that you have created. When you add your items you in essence create a collection of your work and you can customize how that work is displayed and showcased. As you’d imagine with a social network, Hobzy allows you to connect and engage with others who share the same interests. You can share your work, get feedback from them and keep up to date with their latest efforts too.
‘Niche’ social networks like this have become increasingly popular in recent years although they probably don’t all have as much potential to grow as Hobzy does. After all, don’t we all want to spend more time doing that thing that we love...
If that is the case and you are considering turning your hobby into a business - check out our article on just that!
