Startup of the Week - HireHand

by Startacus Admin
Whilst the pop-up phenomenon of the last few years has helped many budding entrepreneurs and early stage startups to gain customers and build brand awareness, it has also brought with it some challenges. For example, whilst it may seem a great idea to have a pop-up food stall for a few weeks in a prime city centre location, it may prove a tad difficult if there is only one person to staff it during all the required trading hours!
It’s not just a matter of getting a friend to help out - you’ll often need the help of someone who really knows what they’re doing - a grill chef, a cuisine chef...you get the picture…
However thanks to our latest Startup of the Week, such challenges are no more!
HireHand is a new recruitment platform which aims to service pop-up businesses in particular - both in the retail and food sectors.
It’s a fairly straightforward affair.
Simply complete a booking form with details of your task. The HireHand team will then match you with one of their clients who has the skills and experience that you need for the task required.
Once the task is completed, you pay their fee online and also rate the experience which you have had.
In essence it’s perfect if you just need an extra pair of hands for a few days or even for a few hours. Rather than going down the traditional recruitment route, you can simply submit your needs to HireHand and they will source the right temporary member of staff for you.
HireHand have an ever-growing pool of people who all have the skills and experience you are likely to need and more importantly the willingness and desire to undertake very short term tasks at extremely short notice!
At the moment the HireHand service is focused solely in the London area but we would hope that they’ll be expanding their remit soon and going beyond the capital.
Whilst they’re providing a great service for pop-up traders, it’s important to mention that they’re also providing a great resource for people to get some short term employment and thereby make some cash and also further develop their skills and experience. HireHand is an all round winner then!
