Startup of the Week - HelpfulPeeps

by Startacus Admin
Let’s face it. Wouldn’t the world be a much nicer place if we were all a tad less selfish? If we spent a little more time thinking about the needs of others rather than always having our own desires and wants foremost in our minds?
If we all honestly felt we could ask someone else for a helping hand without always assuming that they’d be wanting something in return? It may sound idyllic, old-fashioned even but there can be no denying that it’d certainly help to restore our faith in good old human nature!
Well...thanks to our latest Startup of the Week, that idyllic notion is on its way to becoming a reality.
HelpfulPeeps is a social network and app which is on a mission to make us realise that “life is better when we help each other”.
It’s about us sharing our time, knowledge and skills with each other without expecting a reward. It’s about helping someone out when they need a hand because we want to and more importantly because we can…
HelpfulPeeps is very straightforward to use.
If you’re in need of help with something, simply post your request on the site; likewise if you would like to lend a hand to someone, simply scroll through the requests and see where you can do just that! Every time you help someone on the site, you’ll earn yourself some karma points - the more help you give, the higher your karma score becomes! As the HelpfulPeeps folk describe it, you’ll be contributing to the growth of the karma economy!
We love what HelpfulPeeps is all about. We love their pay it forward style philosophy. We love how they’re bringing back old school community values back. And we’re not alone.
There are people in over 50 countries around the world who have already joined the platform and the number of users is growing all the time.
To support this growth, the HelpfulPeeps team are currently seeking funding under the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme.
If you’d like to quite aptly “help” them, why not email hello@helpfulpeeps.com and let them know how you can. Click here to learn more about their funding round, and proposition to investors.
And also check out how you can be considered for our next Startup of the Week.
