Startup of the Week - Hand Me In

by Startacus Admin
Let’s face it. Losing something can be one of the most frustrating things ever. But we’ve all done it. Whether it’s leaving our glasses on the train or our mobile in a café - it’s never nice! And of course there’s no better feeling than getting our lost item back again is there? Not only is there that sense of relief but there’s also the restoration of faith in humanity!
Well, thanks to our latest startup of the week, recovering our ‘lost things’ has just become a whole lot easier.
Hand Me In is an innovative new startup which aims to help people recover items that they have lost.
It’s a pretty straightforward premise.
You simply use Hand Me In tags as a way of hallmarking your personal property - whatever that may be. If you happen to lose one of your hallmarked possessions, the finder can scan your tag and let you know where it is or even report it directly through the website.
The end result? You’ve got your stuff back and all is well with the world once more!
Of course it’s not a service that’s just aimed at the individual - businesses can also use it to mark their items - staff mobiles, laptops, whatever they want to protect.
At the time of writing, Hand Me In proudly boasted of having had over 21000 items handed in - pretty impressive stats for such a relatively new business.
Whilst it’s a colossal task to effectively create an online lost property office, it’s still an admirable and worthwhile one.
And since we all love being reunited with our lost items - we reckon Hand Me In could be on to a winner here…
