If you’re into short films - either in terms of making them or watching them, you’re going to like this a lot. This of course being our latest Startup of the Week.
Fliqio is an innovative new mobile video on demand service.
Users can easily find and watch high quality short films to suit their tastes - no matter where they are - on or offline.
It’s a freemium subscription based service meaning that if you want to avail of the service for free, you’ll have to accept that there’ll be some ads.
Once you download the app and sign up you can then filter the type of content you’d like to see by anything from the film’s duration through to its genre or theme.
You can either watch your chosen films instantly or even download them to watch offline later.
Perfect for those long bus or train journeys home!
For short filmmakers the Fliqio app not only helps them increase their audience base but also helps from a monetary perspective. How? Well that’s easy - if you’re a content owner who submits a film to the platform, you’ll get a share of the subscription revenue generated - depending of course on the popularity of the film itself!
It’s great to see a platform which is both helping to showcase creativity whilst also rewarding it.
Whether you want to add your own short film to the site or simply improve the quality of your mobile viewing, we reckon you should sign up to Fliqio.
But before you do, check out their own short promo video which explains things a little more…
