With the football season upon us once more, fans up and down the land are filled with excitement, anticipation and of course high hopes for their beloved teams. Whilst some may be lucky enough to attend live games, for many others, watching from the comfort of their home or local pub will be the order of the day.
If you do happen to be watching from home - it’s probably only your nearest and dearest who get to witness how you’re reacting to the game being played - your roars, your cheers and of course your boos!
Well, thanks to our latest Startup of the Week, that need no longer be the case.
Fanmode is an innovative new app which allows sports fans across the world share and express their emotions during live sporting events.
The app enables fans to interact directly by using gesture based inputs. Want to cheer a goal? Simply swipe up. Unhappy with a decision and want to boo? Simply swipe down. Tap the screen if you want to clap. Feel like waving a flag? Simply wave your phone around instead!
Apart from all the waving, cheering and clapping, the app can also help fans engage with each other and enter into online chat. Debates galore!
For football clubs themselves, the app will enable them to gain useful data in real time on fans’ sentiments and views - and do this at a global level.
The short video below gives a little insight into how it all works. Go check it out.
Our thoughts on this quirky new startup? We like the concept a lot. And we hereby give it a virtual “swipe up”!
