Startup of the Week - Eppik

by Startacus Admin
The startup that is merging the traditional and the digital...

Recognising the value that photos, old and new have for our memories, our families and our friends, our latest startup of the week have created an innovative solution.
Eppik is “a smart family photo sharing platform that helps families reconnect through their shared photo heritage”.
The platform provides a private space for users to share their photos and in turn safeguard their memories. Eppik uses a combination of high-resolution imaging hardware and AI-driven software to provide a unique museum grade digitisation service.
Users can have their physical photo albums digitised in high definition, all files are stored on secure servers and can be accessed only by those they want to share with. Users can add comments, share stories and in essence enrich their family history.
It is an innovative way of bringing photos back to life and although the physical album may remain on a shelf in someone’s house, it can be now accessed by family and friends everywhere. The memories are preserved and can be enjoyed by all.
Eppik is available on a monthly subscription basis and the cost varies depending on the number of photos and albums that are digitised.
In addition to this, it is also possible to purchase the “gift of memories” which is an Eppik Gift Box where photo albums can be digitised and then viewed and shared online in a private Eppik account. And to help protect memories further, 10% of sales on every Gift Box is donated to Alzheimer's Research UK - a truly worthy and valuable cause.
We love what the Eppik folk have created with this storytelling platform. We love how they have found a way of merging the old and the new - the old dusty photo album and the innovative AI-driven technology.
We reckon you will too.
