Startup of the Week - Empty Pocket Traders

by Startacus Admin
As anyone who knows us in real life, or even follows us on Twitter can vouch for, we’re big fans of coffee here at Startacus. The day doesn’t really begin until we’ve had that first caffeine fix. Therefore when we hear about new startups in or around the coffee sector, we quite frankly get a tad excited. And that’s exactly what happened when we first heard about our latest Startup of the Week.
Empty Pocket Traders is an online platform selling and delivering the UK’s best Fairtrade coffee right to your door.
The subscription service is straightforward - simply select from one of the 3 plans on offer based on how many cups of ‘good’ coffee you would like to have per week. The plans start from a pretty affordable £5.75 per month. No excuse not to sign up and try it for yourself then!
Sign up and you’ll not just get a new gourmet Fairtrade coffee though - you’ll also receive an info leaflet with brewing tips, a coffee-related recipe and details of the story around the coffee itself - where it originates and the people who grow it.
Subscription startups do seem to be pretty popular at the moment, but when they combine a quality product with an ethical focus, they surely ought to be supported. We reckon that Empty Pocket Traders certainly should.
