Startup of the Week - DAD

by Startacus Admin
Whilst some of us are pretty DIY savvy and will try our hand at most household repairs, others amongst us are less so. If you fall into the latter camp, we reckon that our latest Startup of the Week would be well worth a look.
DAD is an innovative new app which is aiming to be “the new home of home repair”.
Here’s how it works:
Make a call to DAD and you’ll be connected directly with an expert who, via the use of video technology will talk you through how to fix the problem. Whether it’s an issue with a leaking tap or a dodgy thermostat, they’ll be able to help.
The cost? You’ll be charged just £10 for making the call and the best thing is there’s no time limit on your call!
If however for some reason the issue can’t be diagnosed or resolved over the phone, DAD can send one of their experts out to do the repair.
All the DAD experts and technicians are experienced professionals and are fully vetted before they undertake any calls or home visits.
And of course if you happen to be one of those experienced professionals, you can sign up to the platform and become a DAD expert. Earn more money at a time that suits you.
We like DAD lots.
We like how it’s empowering us all to do our own household repairs.
We like how it’s offering real value for money.
We like how it’s providing a digital solution to what is often a traditional problem.
The only thing we don’t like? The fact that we didn’t think of it first!
