Startup of the Week - Collective

by Startacus Admin

Freelancer or self-employed? Collective is on a mission to “provide big company benefits for freelancers and the self-employed”
Whilst there are lots of benefits to being a freelancer, there are a few disadvantages too - financial wellness for instance. After all, a freelancer will never generally have the same perks and benefits that an employee of a large company will have. Having recognised this as an issue, our latest startup of the week have created a solution.
Collective is a community which is on a mission to “provide big company benefits for freelancers and the self-employed”.
Freelancers can join Collective and thereby gain access to heaps of benefits that they would not ordinarily avail of - from paid sick days through to low cost insurance deals. The Collective team negotiate the best deals and use their collective buying power to ensure that prices are as low as possible.
Collective also provides its members with access to all sorts of useful business resources. There is guidance on invoices, non-disclosure agreements and contracts to name but a few. With legal, tax and accountancy experts on hand, they are committed to ensuring that Collective members have the best and most relevant resources in one dedicated place. With growing numbers of people choosing to go down the freelance route, the demand for a community like this is only going to increase further in the coming years.
They have created “a social safety net for the freelance economy” and a service which we reckon will prove to be invaluable for many in the future.
