Startup of the Week - Carverter

by Startacus Admin
Carverter is an online platform that’s on a mission to help us all to switch to greener cars sooner, by providing independent advice and comparisons in one handy place
With the UK set to ban the sale of new petrol and diesel cars in 2030, it’s probably the right time for us all to either start to consider greener alternatives when we’re next buying a car or at the very least develop our knowledge of what the green options are. The good news is that help on both these matters is now at hand thanks to our latest startup of the week.
Carverter is an online platform that “helps you find, understand and lease a low- or zero-emission vehicle that’s fit for your lifestyle”.
The Carverter platform uses unique algorithms and has three key tools which can help you do just that:
Carvert
With this tool, you simply enter in your current car’s registration number. It firstly assesses your vehicle’s CO2 and NOx emissions and scores it against current EU standards. Then it provides you with a range of “Carverts” - it basically converts your existing vehicle into an equivalent low- or zero-emission option.
Carwizard
With this tool, you answer a few basic questions about your lifestyle - for example, whether your car is just used by yourself or you have a large family, if you need a larger boot, or you need it to be pet friendly. The Carverter tool then provides you with a range of hybrid or electric vehicles that would fit in with your lifestyle.
Browse
As you’d expect, this tool enables you to browse the range of low- and zero-emission vehicles that are currently available in the market. You can filter these based on your own preferences - so whether you'd prefer an SUV, a hatchback or an estate, you can see what options exist easily. Not only that, you’ll also be able to read detailed spec and factsheets about each of the cars, as well as info on leasing costs.
In essence, Carverter is a one-stop-shop for anyone thinking about making a greener choice with their next vehicle. And after all, that ought to be all of us very soon!
