Startup of the Week - Candide

by Startacus Admin
Gardening novices and experts alike - this is for you! Candide is in essence a one stop shop for all things gardening...
Whether you’ve always been an avid gardener or the current situation has inspired you to finally spruce up your outdoor space, then we reckon that our latest startup of the week will be right up your street - or should we say garden path. Candide is in essence a one stop shop for all things gardening. It is “a social network, an encyclopaedia, a marketplace and a virtual garden tour guide all in one place”.
It is an innovative app and online community which aims to enhance gardening and plant care. It’s for everyone - from the first time gardener through to the experienced horticulturist, from those of us with house plants through to those of us with allotments.
It has a really comprehensive Knowledge and Advice section providing how to videos on all those essential garden tasks, info and tips on growing and nurturing plants and how to deal with those pesky garden pests.
There are also heaps of useful gardening related articles and interesting pieces to read with new content being added all the time. Or if podcasts are more your thing, they’ve got you covered there too.
And whilst we may not be spending our weekends pottering about garden centres at the moment, you can check out all those nurseries and garden centres that are near you and then hopefully make some plans to visit when things are fully back to normal. Likewise you can use the Places map and check out what public gardens you can explore when the time is right! Candide even offers audio guides of some of the country’s prime gardens.
Candide also has an inbuilt Marketplace where you can list your plants, services and equipment for free.
If you’ve got a gardening related business and you’re still open and trading, then why not get it listed - it’s free!
We mean it when we say that there is something for everyone on Candide - from the novice to the pro. And we reckon there could be no better time than the present to check it out and put those green fingers to good use.
Happy Gardening!
