Startup of the Week - Buy Me Once

by Startacus Admin
As we all know, we’re living in what is pretty much a throwaway society. Most of us tend to dispose and replace products rather than repair or re-use them and we don’t necessarily expect things to last.
However, it doesn’t have to be like that. It’s simply a matter of making better choices and in particular more informed ones.
The good news is that our latest Startup of the Week is on a mission to help us all do just that.
Buy Me Once is an online platform which sources and sells some of the world’s most sustainable and long lasting products. Whether it’s kitchenware or clothing, jewellery or tools, you’ll find it all here.
Before being featured on the site, each product is assessed to ascertain its durability, actual customer reviews, how ethical its’ manufacturing process is, its’ ‘timelessness’ and also any aftercare or warranty which it may come with.
The underlying aim is to help us all to “radically shift habits from short-term buying to long-term buying”. A worthy objective, wouldn’t you agree?
What’s interesting too is that Buy Me Once isn’t simply an e-commerce site. They also have a focus of campaigning and challenging manufacturers to create more sustainable and long lasting products.
The site also has heaps of useful articles and tips on everything from upcycling to lifestyle choices which we can make to help not only ourselves, but ultimately the world around us.
Buy Me Once - we’re loving your work…
