Startup of the Week- Asktenants

by Startacus Admin
If you've ever rented a property, you’ll know only too well that the entire process can be a bit of a chore.
Whether it’s your dealings with a pushy estate agent or your discovery of multiple leaks and draughts once you've moved in, it's not always plain sailing. As with anything in life therefore, the more info and knowledge that you have in advance, the better. And that is exactly what our latest Startup of the Week is on a mission to provide.
Asktenants is a new online platform which enables tenants to provide ratings on properties where they live or used to live.
The aim is to help all prospective tenants to make fully informed choices before they commit to any agreements and sign on the dotted line.
We’ve all become familiar with ratings platforms for hotels and restaurants and in many ways this site is no different.
Tenants can post reviews and pictures of the property they have rented and any additional info of note - from the availability of street parking to local school stats, it's all here.
Of course, landlords need not fear - with Asktenants they have the full right to reply and can add any comments or clarification to particular reviews or even post pics should they wish.
The result therefore is that all prospective tenants can get a wholly accurate perspective on their potential rental property and thereby make a better choice. After all, you can't always gauge everything you'd need to know from a 5 minute viewing or an estate agent’s glossy brochure!
It's not only the tenants who benefit from this site however. From a landlord’s perspective, having positive ratings on the Asktenants site would certainly encourage future prospective tenants.
A win win all round then!
