Startup Cities - We want you!

by Startacus Admin
Here at Startacus, we have always been keen to feature the people, the passion, and the places that offer all us self starters that much needed inspiration and information that can help us on our startup journeys.
We always want to know about all the ‘what’s happenings’ of the startup and entrepreneurial scene - and not just in the big smoke of London / Shoreditch / EC1. And don’t get us wrong - we really like that particular ‘scene’, but also recognise that the startup scene doesn’t start and finish around the ring road that is the M25.
Of course, we can’t be everywhere at once. But what better way to show our intention to be a champion of the UK and Irish Startup scene, than by featuring and focusing on some of the other key regions and cities that champion and support the startup scene.
So, starting in May, we plan to each month run a 4 week snapshot of a Startup city - posts featuring the startups, the places, the people, and the happenings that make that city….well the startup place that it is.
And that’s where you hopefully come in…
Perhaps you’re involved in a startup, a social entrepreneur, an incubation expert, a startup champion, you work for an innovation hub, run an accelerator, manage a coworking space….phew...the list goes on…Whichever of these apply - we’d love to hear from you...
In our monthly city snapshot we’re looking for…
-
Newsworthy stories about a city’s startup ‘happenings’
-
Info on the local startup and creative events, conferences and meetups that have happened or are going to happen
-
Definitive (ish) lists on the coworking, incubator, accelerator, and creative spaces in said city
-
Startup success stories - be it via investment, crowdfunding joy, enterprises making a difference, awards, competition successes, the next big thing or local startups that are setting the startup world on fire
-
Any other local stories that you reckon the rest of the Startacus community and the world at large should hear about
Where are we looking?
Well, we’re not getting too far ahead of ourselves, but we’re gonna be starting with Belfast, Bristol and Glasgow. So if you happen to live in one of those cities, this is your call to action…
What are we offering?
Well we can’t unfortunately provide any financial remuneration for your offerings, but we can offer you a platform to reach a growing community of people interested in all things startup, and if relevant a place for you to have a link to your own work - your own organisation...
So what now?
Well, if you’re interested in being a voice for all things creative and startup in your region, get in touch!
Email iam@startacus.net and add ‘Regional Writing’ in the subject box - outline which city (i.e. Belfast,Bristol or Glasgow) you’d like to write about and also give us a little background on your specialist startup experience too.
Once you’ve contacted us we’ll do our best to get back to you as quickly as possible and we do hope that you respect any decision we make! We know we’ll not be able to please everyone, much as we’ll try!
We’ll report back at the start of May with our first snapshot City feature, and also slightly further down the line with our next three cities of interest!
