Starter for 6 - it's back!

by Startacus Admin
If you’re based in Scotland and have an idea for a business or project within the Arts or Creative Industries, the Starter for 6 Programme is well worth a look.
So what’s deemed to be the Creative Industries, you may ask?
Quite a lot actually!
*Drum Roll*...
Advertising, Animation, Architecture, Celebratory Arts, Community Arts, Computer Games, Crafts, Cross Art Form, Dance, Design, Digital & New Media, Fashion, Film & TV, Literature, Live Art, Music, New Circus, Photography, Public Art, Radio, Software, Theatre and Visual Arts.
Phew!
All applicants must:
- have an innovative idea for a creative business that is also sustainable
- be either at the pre-start stage or be trading for less than one year
- own or control any intellectual property necessary for the idea to be implemented
- be living in Scotland or have been registered there for tax purposes for at least 12 months
- plan to set up and operate your business in Scotland
- be able to attend all the scheduled training dates
A whole host of benefits are on offer to successful participants including dedicated enterprise training sessions, mentoring and coaching sessions and extensive networking opportunities. Participants will also have the opportunity to pitch for up to £10000 grant funding at the end of the programme.
Since it launched in 2009, the Starter for 6 programme has helped countless creative entrepreneurs get their ideas off the ground. Could it do the same for you?
Well, if you meet the criteria and submit your application online before midnight on Monday 13 January 2014, who knows... It just might!
Best of luck to all applicants!
