Startacus' Ones to Watch 2016: The Startup Van

by Startacus Admin
Here at Startacus we love highlighting the self-starters, startups, places and spaces that are making a difference, or at least aiming to make a difference in the foreseeable future.
Step forward the first of our ‘Ones to watch for 2016’ - The Startup Van
We’ve known about The Startup Van for some time - in fact, it was one of their in-the-van startup pitch videos that first introduced us to Airpnp (an Airbnb for Toilets!) we now follow them with interest as they feature the most up-and-coming, quirky and fab Startups...and from the comfort of their little green van.
So the Startup Van then…
It features short videos, filmed from within the Van with Startups and Startup folk that they meet on their travels. Graham and Mark are the two Founders of the Startup Van that launched just back in July 2015...think Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty (Jimmy's Farm) travelling around in a campervan chatting to startups and having a lot of fun!
Hoping to head off to startup ecosystems and events all around the World, the Ireland-based duo are building a following broadcasting short, pithy, fun and laidback videos that give great insight into the happenings and characters that shape both leading and innovative startups and the startup ecosystem itself.
Talking of broadcasting watch this short promo video that helps to paint the picture:

Looking to take their van ‘International’ Graham and Mark shared all with Startacus about their plans for 2016:
“2016 is a massive year for us, we are taking The Startup Van international with our first event taking place in London January 29th. We'll be at Eighty Four in Shoreditch during the Silicon Drinkabout event chatting to some really innovative startups and some very impressive entrepreneurs.
We'll also be interviewing people from Startup communities from around the world throughout the year, including Chicago, Dubai, New Orleans and Berlin. We hope people can learn from entrepreneurs from different corners of the globe.
We are planning a very special 6-week tour of Australia, visiting schools to do a series about how important it is to encourage entrepreneurship with children. We'll have some very cool startups coming to the schools with us to show kids how fun startup life can be, some of them will be bringing robots and Virtual Reality headsets... Can't get much slicker than that.
In 2015 we set out to be the best. We intend to raise the bar even further in 2016. Come join us.”
Check out all their startup videos via the Startup Van YouTube channel, give the guys a follow on Twitter and share this post if you reckon others should know about these guy too.
We predict they are going to have a great year in 2016.
