The Smart Cities London event will take place this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday (27th - 29th June '14) and is perfect for anyone who is passionate about designing and producing products that help to make our cities smarter.
This 54 hour long event will see some of the capitals best architects, technologists, urban planners, sustainability experts, government planners, evangelists, researchers, developers and designers come together in teams to create new prototypes as well as learn, play, share ideas, network and generally have a jolly good time!
As the theme of this event is ‘Smart Cities’ the main focus of the projects will be the creation of products which in some way make cities a better place to be. Its an incredibly broad area which promises to produce a huge variety of innovative new ideas which could cover anything from sharing economy to crowd sourced urban planning applications and Swift mobile payment systems to smarter home technologies…
The whole weekend will culminate in a pitching event, where attendees will be given the opportunity to present their ideas to a panel of expert judges (including potential investors)
Where do you come into all of this ?
The weekend promises to be an incredibly enjoyable and worthwhile undertaking and we are glad to say that there are still a number of spaces left- (which are now available to Startacus members with a 50% discount!)
There are 3 types of folks invited to take part which will provide the broad range of skills necessary to plan, design, prototype, market and pitch the innovative products created by each team.
Developer- This ticket type applies to software engineers/coders/developers - in short, anybody who can and will write code.
Designer- This ticket type applies to anybody with a background in design (graphics, UX/UI, etc.)
Non-Technical- This ticket type applies to business, marketing & PR, and anyone with a non-technical background.
