Startacus - Marketest Self Starter of the Year Award

by Startacus Admin
When we launched our Self Starter of the Week award a few weeks ago it was because we recognised that pretty much every early stage startup, entrepreneur, self starter...(call it what you like) loves to get a pat on the back, a mention and a bit of recognition for their big (or small) idea, their project or their business and all that they're doing.
So far, we hope you agree that the weekly award has given a Startacus member a platform, PR and a little press to highlight what they are doing and what they're up to. In a nutshell, it's free PR - free publicity - free promotion.
We're not stopping there though. At the end of the year, we're planning to give a really big shout out to a Self Starter of the Year - someone who has perhaps stood out just that little bit more - someone who is a real inspiration and who deserves even more recognition.
Exciting times ahead then! Even more exciting is the fact that Marketest, a leading UK Online Quantitative Market Research company, who work with pre-startup, startups and businesses have agreed to partner up with us to support the Self Starter of the Week feature.
Since the Marketest Team has a wealth of experience and expertise in helping clients test their target market, and Startacus - The Self Start Society is a fast growing go-to platform and community for self starters, beginners and experienced members alike, we reckon this partnership is a perfect match. To celebrate this partnership Marketest will award the Startacus Self Starter of the Year with £1000 worth of free tailored consumer market research. How good is that!
Basically at the end of the year, each awarded Self Starter of the Week will be asked to pitch to us in 200 words or less, why they should be considered the Self Starter of the Year and what they would use the £1k worth of consumer market research for.
Of course apart from that pretty cool prize, each Self Starter of the Week is gonna be getting even more promo and publicity since Startacus and Marketest are in this together. Check out this previous post that outlines what each self starter of week gains from the acclaimed title currently.
Here's a few more details worth noting:
- This year's competition will run until Monday 30th December.
- All Self Starter of the Week awardees will be contacted to get their pitch in. They will have until Friday 10th January to get those all important pitches over to us
- Startacus and Marketest will consider all pitches
- The 2013 Self Starter of the Year will then be announced on 20th January 2014. Hooray! What a great start to the New Year for one lucky self starter!
Want to find out more about how to become a Self Starter of the Week and our current hall of fame? Simply check out the links! Don't forget though - if you'd like to be considered, you've gotta be a registered Startacus member - so get on it! In fact, if you'd like to be considered for next week's Self Starter of the Week, this previous post explains all.
We'd just like to say also at this point a huge thank you to our partners in this - Marketest for their support and generosity! For some rather handy tips on market research read this fab post by Marketest too!
And for any other forward thinking and similarly awesome companies out there who'd like to support us in some way? We're all ears! Fancy supporting our Startup of the Week feature for example? Or another section or feature of the site? Get in touch now!
