Startacus looks at the Shine Unconference Event

by Startacus Admin
On the Shine Unconference 2012 Facebook page, they start with a rather attractive statement "This one is for you, the 'walkers' not the 'talkers'” and with a motto like this, we really could not ignore this 2 day festival for the Social Entrepreneur...
Taking place at the Sadler’s Wells Theatre on Rosebery Avenue in London on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th November, the Shine Unconference Event, which has been going since 2008 aims to target 'socially-minded' entrepreneurs.
This year the festival is all about 'Growth' and the growth of ideas - with Startacus' own collaboration tool aiming to get the dormant self starter to act on their ideas and this years Global Entrepreneurship Week also focusing on this topic, it seems ‘making ideas more of a reality’ is all the rage at the moment! Anyhow, that said, the unconference also focuses on the established social venture that needs support and advice to grow to the next level.
Participation is also a key 'unconference' element to the conference and all attendees are given the opportunity to ask questions and seize the opportunity to speak with a range of social entrepreneurs who have "walked the walk" - hence you start to take that walk yourself into doing someone constructive with your ideas.
It’s a shame that we here at Startacus cannot make this event, however we will be keeping a close eye over proceedings and we look forward to hearing how the conference makes a social impact on this year’s attendees going forward...
