Startacus celebrates its 1st birthday with updated virtual workspace area

by Startacus Admin
It’s our 1st birthday today, and boy are we having a super fine day.
Startacus came about because we realised that although there are lots of great ideas out there, being dreamt up every day by people just like you, when it actually comes to doing anything with those ideas, it can be a whole different story. Finding the information, the support, the people and the places that can help can be like looking for ye olde needle in the haystack. There can be all sorts of barriers and all types of obstacles so in the end an idea may simply lie there, going to waste and getting forgotten about. Here at Startacus we’ve been trying to do our bit though to stop that happening.
We’ve spent the last year building a great resource of articles, tips and inspirational posts, we’ve been developing our business toolkit, we’ve been growing the self start society network and we’ve been creating our innovative virtual workspace. In fact, we’ve been pretty much flat out and we’re kinda chuffed with how that first year has gone!
To help us celebrate that first year, why not join in to our Twitter party, using #StartacusIs1) but before you do, check out this little little treat we wanted to share with you all...
To celebrate being 1, we’ve made a few small, but we reckon, important changes to the virtual workspace area of the site. What's the virtual workspace you might ask? Well...in a nutshell...
The Startacus virtual workspace is a unique, private or public dedicated space for you to work on your big (or small!) idea. It’s a place where your idea can be incubated, where you can work on any element, from concept and design, through to finances or business practicals - whatever matters most to you. We’ve got virtual notebooks, which you can fill with images, videos, comments or notes - and which you can use to keep track of things as your idea progresses.
On the whole, the feedback we’ve had about the workspace has been pretty positive so far and we’ve listened to it all and have made a few suggested changes here and there. We also wanted to make sure that the bits that our members used and most loved, were as accessible to new members as quickly as possible - so getting stuck in and using the workbooks and letting those creative juices flow has just become a whole lot easier.
So that’s that then - it’s over to you. We’re not gonna say any more - it’s your space - it’s up to you how you use it! However, to at least point you in the right direction, we’ve updated our handy virtual workspace guide so you at least have a few tips and pics to get you going.
Enough from us now. We want to hear from you - let us know your thoughts on the updates - what works, what doesn’t - what would make the virtual workspace even better. We’re all ears! After all this is only version 1.1 and we have lots more plans afoot!
Vive la revolution!
