Startacus and the Big Draw

by Startacus Admin
Startacus occasionally dabbles at drawing. Not that we can claim to be any good, but we do believe that doing the odd doodle helps get the ol’ creative juices going (especially in dead boring office meetings - when you sketch out the boss sitting opposite).
So we were glad to hear of The Big Draw - the month long celebration of...you guessed it...Drawing, that kicked off yesterday and runs for the whole month of October.
Its’ aim, “to get the World drawing”, may seem a bit wishy washy, but the reality is that when surrounded by technology, apps, laptops, tablets and game consoles, how many of us really take the time to do a little drawing or scribble?
The reality is that art, drawing, painting, scribbling...(whatever your creative vice) can help you to think, create and learn, so any campaign to bring the creative juices to the mainstreams is a cause worth telling you all about.
With heritage sites, galleries, museums, libraries, parks, schools, and the like, getting involved, we think it’s only right to try and motivate the self starter community, to take a few hours out during October to get involved. Startacus has already committed to drawing a few pics and adding them to our Facebook page!!
In fact, Startacus goes as far as to say that drawing is one of the most economically accessible ways to ‘play’ - no need for the next big app or tablet, just a good ol fashioned pencil, piece of paper, and if you are lucky a rubber, to get you going. So with this in mind, take a look at The Big Draw site and also the long list of events going on, both in the UK and further afield.
And, if you fancy sharing any of your doodles with us, please feel free to email iam@startacus.net with your pictures.
