Space-as-a-service startup, Bold, launches an on-demand meeting room service

Space-as-a-service startup, Bold, launches in London, with the aim of bringing commercial space into the so called "access economy" with their on-demand meeting room service.
According to Bold, research suggests SMEs spends £6k a year in cafes (coffee commerce), as well as £92M/year spent on small meetings in hotels. We've not done the maths, but this apparently equals a whopping £1b market. A market you would assume is prime for disruption.
Co-founded by a flexspace veteran Caleb Parker, step forward Bold, who are targeting those very SMEs, startups and freelancers, with their space-as-a-service platform across London.
Instead of taking on the typical "rent collector" role like traditional landlords, Bold are launching a suite of curated spaces across London that members can flexibly tap in and out of by the hour or day. The spaces will be booked with the tap of an App, which also acts as the key to access the space.
With the first Bold space now open and hosting meetings at Old Street, 100+ spaces are set to be rolled out over the next two years following a partnership with global commercial real estate firm, CBRE. Bold has already welcomed start up founders, strategy sessions, film crews and journalist meetings in dozens of bookings in the first few weeks of being live.
All Bold meeting rooms will include all the essentials needed for a productive meeting; free WiFi, giant whiteboards, espresso machine, big screen TVs - all rooms beautifully designed to inspire creativity and collaboration (and house 10 people or less).
Bold Cofounder and CEO Caleb Parker said: 'I'm a big fan of entrepreneurs and innovators who challenge the status quo to improve their corner of the world. We want to support these creators. Accessing a beautiful space to work or meet shouldn't be reserved for big corporates who can afford an expensive and risky 5-10 year lease. We believe space should be more accessible"
If Bold has it their way, space-as-a-service will be the newest tagline in the access economy - a bold ambition perhaps, but watch this space.
