Social Entrepreneurs Ireland awards 2016 opens for applications

by Startacus Admin
“What if your Big Idea could change Ireland?” is the tagline for the Social Entrepreneurs Ireland awards which have just opened for applications…

With applications opened from last week, Social Entrepreneurs Ireland have €600,000 available in funding and support to award up to 9 Irish social entrepreneurs. (Both NI and ROI)
On an annual basis, Social Entrepreneurs Ireland hold an open call for applications which is followed by a multi-stage selection process to determine which social enterprise projects they will support that particular year.
There are two programmes available, namely Impact and Elevator and although they’re targeted at projects at various stages of development, their common aim is to support social enterprises with the greatest potential to bring about positive change to some of Ireland’s most pressing social and environmental challenges.
What are they looking for?
Both programmes (Impact and Elevator) look for social entrepreneur-led projects that address a societal challenge in a new or better way. These projects must be mission driven, effective and have the potential to scale their impact. The person applying must be the main driver and lead decision maker with a project already up and running. They should act in an entrepreneurial manner and be open to learning and developing themselves through the Awards Programme.
