snap40 - wearable tech for health

by Startacus Admin
snap40 - The award winning Scottish healthtech startup that has AI innovation at its core with its innovative health monitoring device...

The Edinburgh-based healthcare startup has created a wireless wearable that allows accurate and proven patient monitoring, powered by artificial intelligence. The device passively monitors patient health trends 24/7, identifies at-risk patients earlier, and creates alerts to allow intervention.
snap40 is simple to use and requires no internet, as it comes with a hub of its own that allows the device to transmit data securely. For the doctor, snap40 provides real-time reviewing, smart automated alerts, and a single dashboard from which to view patients’ health trends in-depth.
Use of snap40 can reduce healthcare costs due to earlier identification and intervention, lowering length of hospital stay, remissions, and more. The non-invasive device has proven ICU-levels of accuracy, and collects data every 2 seconds on oxygen saturation, respiration rate, pulse rate, temperature, motion & activity, posture, blood pressure, and weight.
This helps the doctor build a deeper understanding of the patient’s health. The device can also be used during hospital stays, identifying deteriorating patients faster as well as freeing staff from manual entry of vital signs.
In July, snap40 raised $8m in seed funding, which they say is the largest amount raised by a startup in the UK health-tech space. That funding brought them to $10m total. We think this will only be the start, given the hugely important job the startup and its AI-powered device is doing. We look forward to seeing more about snap40 in the future.
