Sellalong - making resale a core part of retail transactions

by Startacus Admin
The lowdown on Sellalong, the circular economy startup making it easier for retailers and shoppers alike to recirculate clothes.
How many times have you worn something, or used an item once or twice and then thrown it away? With recent research showing that 70% of household items currently go directly to landfill, startup Sellalong have created a much needed and timely solution via a system that allows hassle-free garment recirculation and thereby ensures the resale industry can grow.
Sellalong are striving to help move the world to a Circular Economy, where every item produced is used fully, then reprocessed and used again. They are guided by their vision: “a world with No Unused Stuff.”
So how does it work? Sellalong integrates into retailer apps and websites allowing customers to buy new items using their previous purchases as a form of credit.
Firstly, the customer selects used items to sell back for instant credit towards the purchase of a new item. Then, when the customer receives the new item, they also receive a free shipping label, to ship the used items back to Sellalong. Sellalong then receives the used items and notifies the retailer if any items are missing. Once that has been done, Sellalong then either resells the items through various resale marketplaces or responsibly recycles any unsellable items, with the net proceeds being then sent to the retailer.
A simple idea but a great one! Let’s help make the economy circular together!
