Self Starter of the Year Jennifer Duthie wins on Dragons Den

by Startacus Admin
Last year’s Annual Self Starter of the Year has just bagged her co-founded startup Skribbies £60k of hard cash for a 25% investment on BBC’s Dragons Den. Skribbies are super comfy kids trainers for little ones. Designed in the UK, Skribbies have been developed with a special material and magic pens to allow your kids to create their own style, every day from new. Back at the start of 2014 Jennifer updated us on her progress highlighting ‘gaining investment’ as one of her key goals for 2014.
So as you can imagine we were delighted to watch Jennifer pitch to the Dragons and answer their questions and queries in such an eloquent and professional way.
We asked Jennifer what the investment from Dragon’s Kelly and Piers would mean for Skribbies:
'We are thrilled to have been offered the investment by Kelly & Piers on Dragons Den. Kelly recently tweeted that it's a dream team and her synopsis is perfect. We couldn't have picked better dragons! The capital is going to help take Skribbies international faster, develop new products and will allow us to do more on the marketing front. We're starting an exciting new chapter in the Skribbies journey. Thank you to all those who have supported us so far and to those joining the journey now we promise it's going to be incredible.'
So a big congrats to Jennifer and we wish the whole Skribbies team all the best going forward!
